Lamb Meatballs Recipe

Here’s a delicious recipe for lamb meatballs:

Ingredients:

For the meatballs:

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Olive oil, for frying

For the tomato sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, and coriander. Mix well using your hands.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, occasionally turning, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer the cooked meatballs to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  4. Add another tablespoon of olive oil in the same skillet and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and sugar to the skillet with the onions and garlic. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring the tomato sauce to a simmer and add the cooked meatballs to the skillet. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, occasionally stirring, until the meatballs are cooked through.
  7. For a delicious meal, serve lamb meatballs with tomato sauce over pasta, rice, or crusty bread. Garnish with additional parsley, if desired.

Enjoy your homemade lamb meatballs.
