Lamb & Blackbean Chili Recipe
Here’s a delicious and hearty recipe for Lamb and Black Bean Chili:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, minced (optional for heat)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (14 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
- Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeno
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeno pepper (if using). Saute for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are softened.
- Add the ground lamb to the pot and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes to allow the spices to bloom and release their flavors.
