Lamb & Blackbean Chili Recipe

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, minced (optional for heat)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (14 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeno


  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeno pepper (if using). Saute for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are softened.
  2. Add the ground lamb to the pot and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
